MY Biography

Hi My name is Philip Flory,Im a 13/m from Wichita Kansas.My life of weather began when i was just 5,the year was 1991,This day was the day of the Andover Tornado which changed my life forever.On this day it began as a ordinary day outside nice and sunny outside,At the time I was outside playing with my toy guns.Later that afternoon the sky from the south began to thicken up and lower and soon it was very dark outside.Soon after that a hour or so i heard tornado sirens go off I ran to my parents and said whats happening?They said a tornado,I was terrified I didnt even know what it was and here I was running for the basement,A few minutes later it got quiet,my family not knowing much went upstairs as I did but at that moment we were in the vortex closest to the tornado when it was about a 1/2 mile away!Luckily that day our family and house was spared,But other people werent so lucky,As 21 people died that day some we even knew.

Until I was about 10 years of age,I was scared of tornadoes bigtime!Anytime i saw the Weather Channel and there was red near us I would freak out,Also during this time i began to make my first weather maps with crayons inside a big box in the basement,Slowly but surely i was beginning to like weather.

When i turned about 10 1/2 I was starting to really like weather especially severe weather,For Christmas i got my first computer a Sony,I have today,I soon had Internet access and began to explore the web,i was astounded by how much there was on weather.Soon I got hooked up with live radar from Weatherconcepts,And just now Accuweather and Weathertap Live Nexrad,I also just last winter installed a Davis Weather Station on the roof of my house.I also have many pictures of severe weather and large maps on my for warnings.Also have MesoTrac,and WeatherNode.

In the future,I hope to become some tipe of Meteoroligist though its still unclear what kind,if i had to pick right now I would be a storm chaser And work at the SPC,Or local NWS,But there are many thing to get into.
